Alex Aspinall
Alex Aspinall has been playing drums for twenty years. He graduated with a BA in Music from Sonoma State University in 2002 with distinction in the field of jazz. While at Sonoma State, Alex studied with jazz drummer George Marsh. Alex has also studied with Harold Jones, Eddie Marshall, Akira Tana, and at the Drummer’s Collective (New York City).
Since 2002, Alex has worked full time as a musician, both as a performer and educator in the bay area.
In addition to the Expandable Trio he currently performs with the Randy Vincent Quartet, Ken Cook Trio, alt/pop artist Gentry Bronson, and is an in-demand sideman with many other groups.
Alex has also had the pleasure of performing with: Mel Graves, Peter Barshay, Chris Amberger, Andrew Emer, David Ewell, Cliff Hugo, Tyler Blanton, Dave MacNab, Dan Zinn, Bob Johnson, The One World Band (Chuck Sher, Roberto Piexoto, Jean-Michel Hure, Bob Afifi), Mimi Fox, Smith Dobson, John Stowell, Shea Breaux Wells, Lee Press On & the Nails, and Katherine Grace.
